Gratitude For Warmth

Whilst on a walk today, I ended up in the bakery to get some doughnuts. However, like most diversions from my normal route home, I found myself faced with another thing to be grateful for.

There was a tall man looking rather anxious in the bakery. He was curled up in the corner trying not to pay anyone attention. He was not purchasing anything and continued to look at customers suspiciously.

I tried my best to avoid eye contact with him, but I could not help but realise how alone and poorly he looked. I was too nervous to say anything, yet I knew from his face he had nowhere to go.

Here in the UK, we are currently going through a storm. It is bringing us violent snow (which many seem to like) and cold winds. On my walk today, I experienced the freezing breeze on my face, and I did my very best to walk quickly home.

Be Grateful

It is true that you do not miss something until it is gone. However, I found today that you do not value something until you realise not everyone has it. Many of the most expensive things on our planet are rare and are therefore placed at a high value.
