Having A Productive Day Off

The title of this personal journal entry sounds rather contradictory. How do you manage to have a productive day off? Well, I recently got advised by a loved one to start implementing a rest day into my life. So, I chose Saturday, and it is proving to be very helpful.

I have found myself in a better position on Sunday’s to complete work. I also feel much better about myself. Here’s why:

Catch Up With Loved Ones

I run such a busy schedule throughout the week. Juggling a degree, a full-time job and writing does not leave much time for me to speak to those I care for. In turn, it also does not leave much time for them to express their care for my health and well-being.

By having a day set aside for this, I am able to feel the encouragement and love they bring. And because of their kind words, I feel empowered to start another week.

Solving My Problems

Stepping away from the problems you are trying to solve does actually work. But how well? I would say pretty well. In fact, some of my most creative ideas have come on my rest days whilst in the shower or cooking.

Having Gratitude For The Present

Due to Being less busy, I am able to appreciate being in the moment. Not having…
