Here Is One Way You Can Become More Innovative

In a world where knowledge has become easily accessible, you may find it hard to believe that people still hide their own. People who seek to control their environments and fulfil their own self-worth are more likely to withhold knowledge from others.

Due to territorial behaviours that are driven by fear, people become less inclined to share the knowledge that they have. To do this, people store knowledge in areas that are hard to find or deliberately play dumb to avoid sharing knowledge.

However, the efforts to withhold knowledge from others often puts the knowledge hider in a compromised position. They become less innovative and are more likely to become less productive.

Knowledge is worth the most when it is shared. Through sharing knowledge, we develop our ideas and progress our society.

Ownership Is Important

Hiding knowledge is not the best thing to do. As highlighted in the introduction, sharing our knowledge allows us to become better. We can build on the ideas of others and collaborate in a productive way. However, ownership over the knowledge we have is vital too.

We want people to feel accountable for the knowledge they have acquired over their life. The feeling of accountability…
