How Education Has Made Me Happier

It can be easy to take education for granted. The schooling system appears to be pointless as we go through it as much of its content becomes irrelevant to us.

However, in this short, I will highlight two ways education has assisted me in my pursuit of happiness.

Becoming a Valued Member of Society

The content of many of the subjects I attended in school has not impacted my life directly. No one has ever asked me to list the British values or how to calculate angles in a triangle. However, having a basic understanding of these subjects has made me a valued member of society.

I can now contribute to societal issues and understand the value of all pursuits that people take. In doing so, I have learned to treat people with respect and formed good friends. And this has led me to a happier me.

The Desire to Add Value to Others

One of the first careers we come across is teaching. Our teachers show us the first thing we can possibly do when we grow up, and this changed my view on careers.
