How I Found Internal Peace

Many of us try to find peace by shutting out our external surroundings. We close the doors on our reality for a short moment and try to get some quiet.

However, at some point, we will have to open the door again. And this can sometimes be terrifying, especially when life is not going our way. Nevertheless, I have found that internal peace is a better way to deal with our suffering.

The Importance of Being Separate

It is clear that there is an element of being separate that brings us peace. Meditation is all about being separate from our external surroundings. And clearing our minds is a way of being separate from our internal thoughts.

Therefore, learning to separate ourselves from our internal suffering is challenging and essential for a peaceful life.

Self-Compassion as a Way to Peace

I have found that practising self-compassion has led me to better peace. The best compassion for others comes when we are outside of their suffering. It is here we can provide the most comfort and bring peace to their situation.

For us, self-compassion can do this. As we show compassion to ourselves, we learn to embrace our suffering rather than try to escape it. And this is where true…
