How You Are Blocking Your Success
We all have our own definition of success and pursue it in different ways. However, our pursuits tend to be draining and challenging. It is on our journey’s to success that we can often grow resentment to our present selves.
We often see success as a way out of our current situation. You have probably heard people say things like:
“Once I get this, everything will be good.”
Although success does promise us a brighter future, viewing it as an escape from our current situation may not be the best thing to do. So, here is a different outlook on success and how I think it should be viewed.
The Negative Side of Success
We often paint a picture in our heads of what success looks like. We believe that once we achieve it, everything will be fine in life. Unfortunately, humans are time-bound creatures, and we are horrible at estimating how we will feel in the future.
If you think back to all the things you ever wanted and got, you will probably notice a pattern. There was a great initial high of excitement, then a loss of appreciation after a while once it became the norm.
The negative side of success is that it losses its power once it becomes the norm.
