Use This Strategy to Improve Your Innovative Thinking

Innovation requires a good environment, diversity and specialisation. At the core of every innovative idea is at least one of these three things. Despite the rules for great innovation not changing that much, companies still struggle to get it out of their employees.

So, here is a strategy that you can use to improve your innovative thinking. But before I tell you the strategy, here is why it works.

Division of Labour

Division of labour is a natural thing humans do to help with the innovation process. Division of labour not only gets things done faster, but it allows for specialisation and better ideas.

When people focus on a task, they become more effective at completing it. However, they also are more likely to find faster and cheaper ways to get that task. And that is how innovation occurs.

So, this strategy is built on our desire to divide tasks up into small pieces and improve incrementally. One thing to mention here is that division of labour only works because of our desire to trade with others.

Due to our want to focus on the things that matter, we often divide our tasks and give people roles to play in our pursuits. Huge companies are perfect examples of this. They…
