Speak to Empower and Enable
One of the best ways to empower individuals is to tell them you believe in them. We can get caught up in all these strategies and culture change techniques to build positive environments and enable our team to be their best.
We focus on having one-to-one meetings and progress reviews, and some of us go the extra mile by setting up team lunches and coffees. However, it is easy to forget that the things we pay less attention to often carry the most weight.
How we communicate with our team enables them to do their best work. And the way we speak to our team members can empower them to be the best version of themselves.
When speaking to our team members, it is essential that we use words that can uplift them, even when the situation is challenging. Our words can either plant a seed of inspiration or tear down progress and growth.
So, as you sit in your weekly meetings and discuss challenging topics with your team, remember your words go further than you think.
