The Essence Of My Passion Is Pain

I came across a rather troubling article today. For many people, the article was just about 5 life lessons you can take from college. However, for me, it was much deeper than that.

At the end of the article, he revealed that it was in his greatest pain, he found passion and drive.

I have always been one to say that we all need some meaning beyond ourselves. This gives us something to drive and live for. In the words of a great philosopher, “If God does not exist, it would be necessary to create him.”

For me, the idea of this quote is hope. The statement is relaying the principle that we all need some greater hope in our lives. It makes life worthwhile and helps us wake up every morning.

However, I realised in myself that maybe my ambition and drive come from the voids within me.

I am not being driven by love, happiness or peace. Instead, there is a void I am trying to fill. It is pain that is driving me to be great.

It is a rather sad thought, but maybe, if we all looked deep down, it would be the same for all of us. Could it be that our short lives here on Earth serve the purpose to fill the voids we did not even ask for?
