Self-Gratification is something we seek from when we are babies. We are all wired to enjoy the things which please us and pursue those things with our maximum effort. Self-Gratification brings us great joy but can blind us from values which could be more important in life, such as romance, friendship, health and contentment.
Either way, this balance between self-gratification and accommodation for others is a balance we must find in life. The issue lies in how we pursue self-gratification. Gratification is practically a drug we are all addicted to, we can not help our impulses of wanting it, and we all find ourselves doing something every day to fuel it.
So, how do we go about controlling this self-gratification? And how should we go about pursuing it?
Instant Gratification: The Problem
Over the past decade, we have seen a rise in this “great” thing called instant gratification. The problem is not many people know it by this name. As our accessibility to the global web and social media networks have improved, there have been fewer interactions with one another in the physical flesh.
