“It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

We are social beings. I quote the great Aristotle, “Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human.” COVID-19 has given us all a more than enough reason to stay inside. But with this comes the reality of solitude. During this time, the book, “ Wired to Create “ written by Scott Barry Kaufman & Carolyn Gregoire, has been keeping me entertained. Whilst unravelling the mysteries behind the creative mind I am also learning about myself and why I have tendencies to do certain things. We are very much inclined to want to feel apart of something, it ensures our safety and sense of belonging. However, when it comes to fuelling the creative mind within us, solitude may be the best place to be.

The book highlights two extremely strong points to why the COVID-19 lockdown might not be to some of our downfalls if we can learn to use isolation correctly.
