Will George Floyd’s protest cause change?

The murder of George Floyd on 25th May has led to great protest around the globe. Despite the health risk of COVID-19 people are still finding it within themselves to risk health for change. Put simply, police brutality towards black people is not out of the norm for America and it appears that the black community has reached its limit. As the chants outside the white house still echo today, “Enough is Enough!” There has been burning of police departments, blocking of roads and deliberate havoc to send a message to everyone that the black community will no longer stand for it. However, to answer this question we must consider a bit more than that.

Each one causing massive losses to the economy and forcing the governments to their knees. London tube drivers have managed to increase their average salary to around £55,000 a year alongside getting improvements in their job benefits and working conditions.
