Happiness is a complicated thing, and many of us have not even figured it out for ourselves. At first, it sounds crazy to think that businesses should not prioritise their employee's happiness. However, there is a balance to be made.

Happiness Is Not Your Responsibility

We all know that if we live our lives trying to please others, we will never be satisfied. Happiness is not something we can give to people. For the most part, that is defined by the individual.

Organisations thrive because of collective ambition, not because they are filled with happy people. Although it would be nice to have companies full of smiles and laughs, that is not the case. And neither does it have to be for a company to thrive.

The Balance to Be Made

Your team members are essential for getting things done. So, their well-being is essential. However, you must also remember that your company thrives because of the collective goal.

Therefore, it is your responsibility to provide an environment that allows for your team to feel valued. That is not the same as happiness, but it can lead to a part of your employee’s happiness.
